ARDOT Launches Public Interactive Quest: Explore AR Highways

ALL COUNTIES | October 12, 2026

The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) has launched Explore AR Highways, an annual adventure encouraging Arkansans and visitors to discover some of the state’s scenic destinations. To complete the quest, visit each of the five recommended destinations and take a photo at each location:

  • City Rock Bluff
  • Great River Road
  • Highway 7 Scenic Byway
  • Pig Trail Scenic Byway
  • Cossatot River

Post photos to Facebook or Instagram, tag ARDOT, and in the caption use the hashtag #ExploreARHighways.

Once all five locations have been visited, participants can complete an online form to receive an exclusive bumper sticker featuring one of the five locations. The first 250 participants to complete the quest will also receive a commemorative ARDOT Challenge Coin.

Explore AR Highways is designed to encourage the traveling public to get out and experience the natural beauty and unique destinations Arkansas has to offer. ARDOT maintains approximately 16,000 miles of roadway that connects travelers to communities, attractions, and destinations throughout the state.

“Whether you are traveling to work, going on a grocery run, or taking a road trip, you have been impacted by a transportation network that has been expanding and improving for decades,” said ARDOT Director Jared Wiley. “These destinations are connected by more than just the State they are found in. If you reached one of these scenic locations, it’s because a highway brought you there.”

Visit ardot.gov/explore for exact location coordinates, recommended places to stop, and the online form to complete the quest.
